Digital marketing and website development companies discuss the next planned edit to Instagram's format
2018 has started off with some quite significant changes in format for some of the major social media apps. The Snapchat layout change has been one of the most talked about changes in recent months and now it seems Instagram have decided to jump on the band wagon and make a significant change to their settings.
Previously digital marketing companies would talk about how a user was notified on snap chat when someone took a screen shot of a story, however Instagram decided to continue on without this feature. This has been described by some as a great way for people to
share content etc without having to disclose their intentions, however Instagram are now following suit and have added a new notification system to users accounts.
If you attempt to screen shot a live story you will see an instant alert that the poster will be notified of your intent, the poster can also login and check if viewers have taken screenshots of their posts. Instagram plans to make the system as user friendly as possible, taking note of an important factor digital marketing experts have been debating for years the importance of a great UX!
So how do you find out if someone has taken a screen shot of your post? Its a fairly easy process and involves checking the seen by section of the app, you will then be alerted to a list of users who have viewed your images/story. If any of those have decided to take a screenshot a small circle like icon will appear next to their name.
Digital marketing boffins have discovered that during this initial test phase were Instagram developers have only released the feature to a few select users there has been a mixed response with some claiming the app will become too similar to snap chat. The claims are that Instagram will only use this feature on stories so images will remain the same without the ability to track whose taking screenshots.
Either way this is a perfect example of how the demand for social media is such that apps are constantly evolving to keep up with the ever growing demands of the infamous generation Z.
